Stand-Up Stands Up premiered at the 2026 Oslo Freedom Forum as a night of stand-up comedy celebrating dissident comedians who keep performing, keep writing, and keep making people laugh—even when it can lead to censorship, imprisonment, or exile.

Stand-up comedy wraps truth in a punchline. It makes power look ridiculous. And that makes a lot of dictators very, very nervous.

Simply put: dictators cannot take a joke.

Featuring comedians from countries where speaking freely can come at an extraordinary cost, Stand-Up Stands Up was both a night of genuine laughter and living proof that comedy is a powerful tool against repression.
